"We have fallen heirs to the most glorious heritage a people ever received, and each of us must do his part if we wish to show that the nation is worthy of its good fortune." - Theodore Roosevelt. When President Roosevelt set aside millions of acres of land to be preserved forever, he did so knowing these were places of immeasurable value to humanity. Places of unequaled beauty that people all over the world would flock to. But this popularity comes at a cost that few of us ever think about. Trash. Each year, visitors to our national parks create over 100 million pounds of garbage. Garbage that ends up in our nation's landfills. Fortunately, we can do something about it. This year, Subaru, together with the National Parks Service and the National Parks Conservation Association, will work toward the goal of making these incredible places zero landfill. Starting with Yosemite, Grand Teton and Denali, we'll leverage Subaru's zero landfill expertise to help make garbage there a thing of the past. It won't be easy, but like President Roosevelt, we understand this is something we must do for those generations yet to come.
