Beth's daughter, Elizabeth, is born in a home birth. Hardy finds Claire at her home with Lee, safe. Hardy confronts Claire about the bluebells, and Lee later denies sending them to her. Bishop meets with her son, Jonah, who is in prison, to discuss his appeal of his sentence. Knight cares for her senile mother, Margery, at a private nursing home, and later has an automobile accident at night due to her failing eyesight. Hardy's testimony continues, and doubt is cast on Joe's use of mobiles and a laptop to commit Danny's murder. Rev. Coates visits the Latimers, where Mark expresses an anti-religious view. Ellie and Claire go to a bar, where Ellie surreptitiously checks Claire's mobile phone for calls from Lee. Drunk, Ellie then has sex with a man she meets in the bar. Lee visits Hardy and gives him evidence on other suspects in the Sandbrook case. Claire tells Ellie she was drugged the night of the Sandbrook murders, and Hardy admits to Ellie that Claire is not telling the truth about Sandbrook. Judge Sharma rules Ellie must testify, and during her testimony Bishop accuses Ellie of having an affair with Hardy and framing Joe for Danny's murder.
