As the team searches for a bone marrow match, they uncover a disturbing family secret. Meanwhile, House looks for creative ways to remove his ankle monitor so that he can attend a boxing match in Atlantic City, and he treats a patient who is convinced he is suffering from diabetes. Also, Taub faces a tough decision when his ex-wife Rachael tells him that she wants to move across the country with their infant daughter.

After auditioning for a movie called The Sickening, Dev and his friend Brian discuss how their entire lives are the way they are because their immigrant parents sacrificed everything to move to America. They thank them by taking them to dinner, and discover the harshness of the lives they went through. Dev hopes that this will all help bring him and his parents closer together.

Jess' divorced parents come to the apartment for Thanksgiving; Jess tries to get them back together despite numerous failed attempts in the past. Schmidt's cousin, also named Schmidt, comes over, spurring a manly competition between the two.
