Description

"Helpless" This incredibly sad commercial shows a man meeting with his doctor. He is obviously getting very bad news, and he seems to be lost. On his way out, he has to walk by other sick people and he starts thinking that these people might be him soon. He rides the train home and waits outside his own apartment until his wife puts his daughter to be because he can't deal with that right now. The next morning he tells his wife that he has cancer. She lovingly wipes his tears and helps him get ready for his chemo therapy by shaving his head. He sits through his treatments getting thinner and weaker, and has to deal with nausea, vomiting, and other effects of the treatments at home as well. Eventually he has to go in for surgery as well, and he has a tender moment with his daughter because he might not live. He does make it through, and he slowly starts to get better. He starts walking with a walker, but soon he is walking on a treadmill at home. Eventually he is strong enough to begin jogging, and he appears to have beat it. He is finally able to enjoy life, family, and friends again. One day he is at a barbecue, and while eating a hamburger he starts to choke. No one knows what to do, and even though he was able to survive cancer, he can't breathe and he dies as his daughter watches. The point of the commercial is that you should learn first aid so that you can save a life, and stop easily preventable deaths. Not everyone can beat cancer, but anyone can clear a blocked airway with the right training.

I've got cancer. I think he's choking (Lyrics) I'm in here, can anybody see me? Can anybody help? I'm in here, a prisoner of history Can anybody help? I've been waiting for you to come rescue me I need you to hold All of the sadness I can not, living inside of me Is anybody out there listening? Can't you hear my call? Are you coming to get me now? I need you to hold All of the sadness I can not, living inside of me I'm in here, can anybody see me? Can anybody help?
